FED:Elderly man heckles bank executives

CANBERRA, Dec 13 AAP - An elderly man with a walking stick has heckled National Australia
Bank executives at a Senate hearing in Sydney.

The man entered the hearing, held at NSW Parliament House, just minutes earlier, shouting
that variable interest rates were illegal and fraudulent.

"It's stealing," he said.

"You cannot have variable interest rates ... it is the biggest fraud and these people
are thieves."

The man was escorted from the room by staff.

South Australian independent senator Nick Xenophon had been quizzing NAB chief executive
Cameron Clyne about small business loans just before the interjection.
