Media are invited to hear Tim Harrington, vice president product strategy for WhereNet(TM) Corporation, speak at the E-Mobility Conference, part of COMDEX/Fall 2000. The E-Mobility Conference is scheduled for November 14-16 in Las Vegas, Nev. The conference focuses on service providers, IT managers, line-of-business managers, channel resellers, VARs, system integrators, and distributors. The conference explores the world of wireless and mobile communications, from local-area to global, and from technologies to applications. The three-day forum will bring together industry leaders in the wireless arena and will address the evolution of wireless technology. Biography for Tim Harrington, WhereNet Vice President Product Strategy
Tim Harrington joined WhereNet after a 16-year career at Symbol Technologies, Inc., the world leader in bar code-based transaction-processing systems. At Symbol, Harrington directed product management and held a number of other positions including senior director of RF OEM systems and senior director of network systems marketing. While at Symbol, he shared in many "firsts" including being part of the team that developed the first solid state, HandHeld Laser Scanner, the LS 8000 and the first spread spectrum wireless LAN, Spectrum One. A patent holder, Harrington has written many articles concerning bar code scanning and Radio Frequency technologies for publications such as ID Systems and Auto ID News. In addition he has been a frequent presenter at conferences such as Scan Tech, ID EXPO, and Networld.
