Qld: Labor launches state election campaign
Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE has officially launched Labor's bid for a fourth consecutive
term in office.
More than 800 Labor supporters have gathered at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex
in Brisbane .. for the official launch of the party's campaign for the September 9 election.
Among the guests are federal ALP leader KIM BEAZLEY .. former leader BILL HAYDEN ..
and former state premier WAYNE GOSS.
Opera singer MAGGIE NOONAN has opened the event singing the national anthem .. as well
as the song You'll Never Walk Alone.
